Advisory:
This is a game about your life. If you have had trauma in your past, be advised that this game could be triggering, especially if you choose to address those topics. Be in a safe place while playing, and consider carefully what you write about it, especially if it is unprocessed grief or trauma.

Premise:
Because of miracles of modern medicine and taking exceptionally good care of yourself, you have lived to the age 120 (or pick anywhere between age 115 and 135). If you were born in 1990, and you’re 120, it’s the year 2110. Adjust the year according to your actual age.

The world is completely different than it once was, but you still have your wits about you. You have a great-great grandchild who has just turned 16 (or you can pick an age), and they are curious about your life, especially what it was like to be a kid and a teenager for you.

Play:
Give the answers to these questions about your actual life. You may write in a journal, type on a computer or phone, record voice memos, or anyway you’d like to play. In your responses, use your imagination to envision what the world is like when you’re 120, how it has changed, and what might need some extra explaining. Also imagine what the world is like when you are 120. What’s better? What’s worse? Is it post-apocalyptic? Allow these to inform how you write your answers.

If you find yourself writing about parts of your life that haven’t happened yet, it’s ok to make things up.

It’s recommended to use your actual life for this game, but if you would rather create a character and have the answers for the memoir game be entirely or mostly fictional, go for it.

First create a family tree. This can be partly true and partly fictional.

Then, roll 1d20 to determine which prompts to answer. You can also select the prompts yourself. Or, if you roll, you can always reroll if you get a prompt you don’t want to answer. Answer as many as you want. You can also create your own questions.

Download the document for the prompts.
